I am starting this blog on day 2 of a year long trip around New Zealand (only 10 days) and Australia. I will be keeping notes of all of the interesting (and not so interesting) places I visit over the next year that can hopefully be of use to others who make the same journey in the future.
Some background about the trip in general:
Who: Myself and my boyfriend (Andrew) of 2.5 years
What: Backpacking for a year, living in hostels and apartments with a working holiday visa (for Australia)
Where: New Zealand North Island and East Coast of Australia, starting in Melbourne
When: Departed Canada on Sept 4th, 2009, no fixed return yet!
Why: Why not!

How exciting for you! Glad you guys are having an awesome trip. I occasionally check in and see what cool (and not so cool) things you’re up to. So far so good and the scenic pics are amazing. Australia is so beautiful. Good times, bad times, its all Australia times and that kicks ass! Have fun!
